CSA Farm Shares

A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program is a membership program where a consumer purchases a share (or subscription) to the farm’s products. This program is a way for community members to buy local, seasonal foods directly from the farm. In return, the customer receives a weekly or biweekly share of the food throughout the growing season. We offer produce-only CSA shares, full diet CSA shares, and local meat shares. 

CSA Membership Types

  • Full-Diet CSA

    The Full Diet CSA is a weekly or biweekly share of Elawa Farm vegetables and herbs, local fruit, a dozen eggs, mushrooms, bread, and grain products, such as flour, granola, pasta, and other offerings from our local producer friends.

  • Produce-Only CSA

    The Produce Only CSA is a weekly share of sustainably grown vegetables and herbs from the fields of Elawa Farm. This CSA share is periodically supplemented with produce from our local farm friends to diversify the produce offerings.

  • Meat Share

    The Local Meat CSA is a monthly share of pasture raised beef, pork, and chicken from Living Light Farms in Paxton, Illinois. Each month, the share includes 15 pounds of frozen and packaged meat cuts. This share is valued at $150/month.

No refunds or cancellations after the first CSA pickup. There is a 10% Cancellation fee if canceled before first pickup.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Pick up of CSA share will take place at Elawa Farm on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., during Garden Market hours. Elawa Farm’s address: 1401 Middlefork Drive, Lake Forest, IL.

  • In addition to your CSA products, you also will receive a weekly newsletter via email that includes information on recent farm activities, information on how to store and prepare a highlighted or featured item, and recipes.

  • Please inform us of any vegetables that your household will not eat and we will do our best to provide you with a replacement item.

  • Yes! If, for example, you're interested in adding a meat share to your full-diet CSA share, you may do so by purchasing them separately.

  • If you're unable to pick up your share during our pick-up time, you have a few options. You can have someone else retrieve your share for you on your behalf or have someone else pick up your share to keep for themselves. You can also make arrangements for a Monday pick up or have us donate your share. Unfortunately, we're unable to make up any missed weeks and cannot accommodate pickups outside of our normal business hours.

  • Due to the nature of this program and limited quantities, orders are non-refundable. We can offer to redesignate payment from a subscription to a donation and issue a tax receipt. If you have further questions about our cancellation policy, please contact us.
