Discovery Garden
In summer of 2023, we opened our ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessible Discovery Garden to host educational programs, as well as build greater accessibility and inclusivity on our farm grounds. Using design concepts such as vertical wall gardens, raised beds, ADA compliant crushed gravel, and a natural shade structure, community members learn how edible and sensory gardens can be adapted to accommodate and integrate any person, regardless of age or ability.
At Elawa Farm Foundation, we strive to foster inclusive, welcoming, and supportive programs for youth and adults of all abilities. Our Discovery Garden and educational programming is adaptable to meet age-specific physical and social developmental needs.
We host weekly garden engagement days with Center for Enriched Living and other community partners throughout the growing season.
The next phase of this garden, Discovery Hive, will open in summer 2024. This garden will feature accessible nature play and gardening activities for all to enjoy.
