Adult Classes & Programs

  • Yoga on the Farm


    Saturdays in the Summer
    9 am - 10 am

    Unroll your mat and enjoy the scenery of Elawa Farm’s restored gardens as our Yoga Instructor guides you on an hour-long yoga journey. This class is a blend of many styles of yoga, such as gentle, restorative, power, and vinyasa flow. We'll start off at a slower pace to meditate, breathe, check in with our current state of being, and increase the pace to build heat and let go of energy that no longer serves us. All levels welcomed. Modifications are offered so each human can choose their level of movement needed. The end goal is for your heart to smile, your mind to find peace, and your body to thank you!



  • Sustainable Vegetable Gardening Workshop

    Join our Farm Team, Elaine Madansky and Sam Cline, for an immersive outdoor workshop on sustainable vegetable gardening. This class will guide you through every step of managing your garden, from initial planning to post-harvest handling. Learn how to cultivate, harvest, wash, and store your vegetable crops using eco-friendly methods. Come prepared to be outdoors and gain practical experience in sustainable agriculture.

  • South Pacific Summer Seafood

    6 pm - 9 pm

    Join us at Elawa farm as we reach out to the coasts to bring together three courses of perfect seasonal fish and seafood preparations for the summer months. Applying techniques and ingredients from the diverse cuisines of Southeast Asia, this class will cover foundational knowledge of fish and seafood treatment and cookery.

    First course of chilled, lightly cured salmon with pea shoots, sugar snaps, peanuts and fish sauce vinaigrette. Second course of steamed mussels in a red coconut curry brodo loaded with basil and fresh pineapple. Third course of wild caught red shrimp stir fried with garlic, ginger, chiles & farm vegetables served with perfectly cooked white rice.

    Featured cocktail: Thai Pearl


    Meals will be cooked and shared throughout the class. Cocktails will be prepped by our resident sommelier and mixologist Tim Clark.

  • Italian Summer Meal with Chef Gale Gand

    Celebrate the vibrant flavors of the season with Chef Gale Gand. This cooking class focused on traditional Italian dishes using fresh, in season produce. You’ll learn three delicious recipes perfect for a laid-back summer evening: Italian Wedding Soup Risotto with tender mini meatballs, wilted escarole and spinach, and a rich parmesan finish; Caponata, a savory-sweet eggplant and pepper appetizer served on crispy crostini and a fragrant Orange Olive Oil Cake delicately scented with rosemary for dessert. Tastings of all dishes will be included.


  • Fruit and Fire: A Summer Supper

    This class session will explore the versatility of local, seasonal summer fruits, specifically as applied in savory dishes. Chef Mickey will lead off with a platter of perfectly ripe melons, hazelnuts, and fine charcuterie, and toasted baguette followed by cucumber and apricot salad with rosé vinaigrette and soft herbs finished with pan roasted pork chops on polenta with a blueberry compote and brodo.

    Get ready to mix, pour and explore!! In this one-hour session with Romney Brown Candle Co you will create your own custom candle using eco-friendly coconut-soy wax ad non-toxic, phthalate-free fragrances. Channel your inner scent artist as you blend two or three of our dreamy fragrances to make a candle that’s uniquely you.

  • A Midsummer Garden Dinner

    Celebrate the height of summer with Chef Mickey in this demo cooking class inspired by the vibrant flavors of the season. Chef Mickey will create a refined three-course menu that highlights the freshest produce. From delicate herbs to sun ripened vegetables, each dish captures the essence of a midsummer evening. Whether you're looking to sharpen your kitchen skills or simply enjoy a beautiful evening of cooking and tasting, this class offers an unforgettable garden-to-table experience.

    Starter: Chilled Zucchini & Basil Soup with Lemon Crème Fraiche

    Main: Pan-Seared Halibut with Tomato Confit & Herb Couscous

  • Flavors of Spain: Summer Tapas & Paella with Chef Gale Gand

    Join us for a flavorful journey into Spanish cuisine as we prepare a feast centered around Paella, the beloved traditional dish perfect for sharing. You'll learn to build rich flavor by slowly cooking short-grained rice with saffron, then layering it with chicken, seafood, and vibrant vegetables.

    We'll start with two classic tapas: Mushrooms Al Ajillo—sautéed with garlic and chili flakes—and artichoke hearts cooked with garlic and parsley. For dessert, we'll make a rich, caramelized Basque Cheesecake. And no Spanish gathering is complete without refreshing white sangria with seasonal fruit.

    Tastings of all dishes will be provided.

  • From Sea to Grill

    Continue your summer culinary journey with the second installment of our hands-on grilling series, led by Chef Mickey Knutson. This class is all about mastering balance, technique, and presentation. This menu brings together vibrant, seasonal ingredients and the irresistible taste of the grill. Chef Mickey will lead the class in a cooking demonstration of grilled whole Atlantic salmon, grilled fingerling potato salad, roasted green beans and baby tomatoes, along with a lemon creme fraiche. Space is limited—register early! This is a demonstration-style cooking class. The dinner cooked will be shared in class. Wine will be available for purchase.

  • Summer in Provence

    Join us at Elawa Farm for a summer evening in Provence, no passport required. In this demo-style class, Chef Mickey will guide you through a seasonal French menu that blends rustic charm with refined technique, all inspired by the farm’s freshest summer offerings. Relax as you watch each dish come to life, learning essential tips for French cooking at home.

    Starter: Niçoise Salad with Soft Eggs & Haricots Verts

    Main: Herb-Crusted Chicken with Ratatouille

  • Peak Season Plant-Based: From Garden to Plate

Family Classes & Programs

  • Goat Stroll


    Fridays in June & July
    12 pm - 12:30 pm

    Join our Assistant Farm Manager, Georgia DeSilva, and our adorable goats for an energizing walk around the farm! This guided experience offers the perfect opportunity to explore the natural beauty of Elawa Farm while interacting with our friendly goats. It’s a fun and relaxing way to enjoy the outdoors and connect with our charming animals.

    All registrants need to purchase a ticket to participate and all 10 and under need to be accompanied by an adult. Heads up! If it rains, we’ll have to cancel goat stroll. Goats don’t love the rain either! We will reach out and refund you for your tickets.

  • Farm Tours

    Join us this summer for farm tours where you'll learn about the history of the Elawa Farm Foundation and how it came to be. We'll discuss its origins, growth over the years, and how it continues to expand and broaden access to education , nutritious food and our local food system.

    Get ready for a heartwarming experience with our friendly goats! Step into their playful world and enjoy a fun-filled session of cuddling, petting, and interacting with our lovable furry friends. This unforgettable encounter is perfect for all ages!

  • Feathery Friends: A Chicken Experience


    Fridays & Saturdays
    9:30 am & 12 pm

    Come meet our curious and friendly chickens on a guided visit with Assistant Farm Manager, Georgia DeSilva! This hands-on experience will enable you to observe our chickens up close, learn about their unique personalities, and feed and pet them. This is an enjoyable and interactive experience for animal lovers of all ages!

    Class will be held in the Goat Paddock.

  • Jamberry

    In this class, Nicole will lead you and your little ones in 45-minutes of collaborative music making. We will connect through music while we sing, dance, move, play and pretend.




  • Farm to Pizza (Cooking Class)

    Looking for a fun summer activity? Bring your kids ages 8-11 to Elawa’s Learning Kitchen where they will learn to make their own pizza. From kneading their own dough, to harvesting fresh vegetables from our garden. Come make new friends and toss up some dough with us at Elawa Farm!

  • Kids and Quesadillas (Cooking Class)

    With summer in full swing, our gardens are bursting with fresh herbs and tomatoes! Bring your young ones to Kids and Quesadillas at our Learning Kitchen, where they'll make tasty quesadillas with garden-fresh veggies and homemade salsa, spicy or mild. They will also enjoy refreshing watermelon agua fresca. This hands-on class for ages 8-11 offers a fun, flavorful culinary adventure.
