CSA Farm Shares

A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program is a membership program where a consumer purchases a share (or subscription) to the farm’s products. This program is a way for community members to buy local, seasonal foods directly from the farm. In return, the customer receives a weekly or biweekly share of the food throughout the growing season. We offer produce-only, aggregated full-diet, flower bouquet and local meat CSA shares.

CSA Membership Types

  • Full-Diet CSA

    The Full-Diet CSA is a weekly or biweekly share of Elawa Farm vegetables and herbs as well as locally sourced fruit, a dozen eggs, mushrooms, bread, and grain products, such as granola, flour, dried beans, tortillas, polenta, popcorn, etc. from our local producer friends.

  • Produce-Only CSA

    Our Produce Only CSA provides our members with the best of what we grow in our fields. We periodically supplement with produce from other local farmers to deliver a broad array of sustainably grown items as they become available throughout the growing season.

  • Peony Share CSA

    Three weeks of freshly arranged peony bouquets during the height of peony season at the farm.  This share will likely start mid-May depending on weather.

  • Flower Share CSA

    Our Flower CSA offers weekly bouquets of fresh, seasonal flowers grown and arranged at Elawa Farm. Each share includes a bouquet made with flowers handpicked during peak season for a diverse and vibrant assortment.

    A monthly share of 15 pounds of a pre-selected variety of frozen and packaged meat cuts from Living Light Farms in Central Illinois.

Cancellation Policy

Due to nature of this program and limited quantities, we have a no cancellation policy. We can offer to redesignate payment from a fee to a donation as appropriate and issue a tax receipt. If you have further questions about our cancellation policy, please contact us.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Pick up of CSA share will take place at Elawa Farm on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., during Garden Market hours. Elawa Farm’s address: 1401 Middlefork Drive, Lake Forest, IL.

  • In addition to your CSA products, you also will receive a weekly newsletter via email that includes information on recent farm activities, information on how to store and prepare a highlighted or featured item, and recipes.

  • Please inform us of any vegetables that your household will not eat and we will do our best to provide you with a replacement item.

  • Yes! If, for example, you're interested in adding a meat share to your full-diet CSA share, you may do so by purchasing them separately.

  • If you're unable to pick up your share during our pick-up time, you have a few options. You can have someone else retrieve your share for you on your behalf or have someone else pick up your share to keep for themselves. You can also make arrangements for a Monday pick up or have us donate your share. Unfortunately, we're unable to make up any missed weeks and cannot accommodate pickups outside of our normal business hours.

  • Due to the nature of this program and limited quantities, orders are non-refundable. We can offer to redesignate payment from a subscription to a donation and issue a tax receipt. If you have further questions about our cancellation policy, please contact us.

  • Tours will be scheduled three dates and times during the growing season.  These dates and times will be communicated directly to CSA members.
